Briquette plant in Gresik
JAKARTA (JP): State-owned coal producer PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam will begin operating a new coal briquette plant in Gresik, East Java, early next year.
The plant will have an annual capacity of 120,000 tons, company president R.A. Soenardi said yesterday, as quoted by Antara.
"We will also operate a similar plant, with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons, in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra," Soenardi said in Palembang, South Sumatra.
He said that the construction of the two plants was being financed with a combination of Japanese loans and Bukit Asam's own funds.
Soenardi said Bukit Asam currently operates two coal briquette plants in Tanjung Enim with annual capacities of 3,000 tons and 12,000 tons respectively.(04)
