Bripda Nopandri Found Dead After Going Missing During Drug Raid in Central Kalimantan
Bripda Nopandri, who went missing during a drug eradication operation in Tumbang Kalemei Village, Katingan Tengah District, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan, has been found dead. The Narcotics Crime Directorate (Dittipidnarkoba) of the Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim Polri) has expressed its condolences following his death.
“We express our deepest condolences to the family of Bripda Nopandri. The deceased fell in the line of duty. May he receive the best place by the side of God Almighty, and may the family left behind be granted fortitude and strength,” said the Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, in a statement on Saturday (4/7/2026).
Brigadier General Eko emphasised that the incident involving Bripda Nopandri is a serious concern for Bareskrim Polri. He stated that a joint team is currently working to fully uncover the details of the event.
“The team is continuing the pursuit of the perpetrators suspected to be involved. We will not stop until all perpetrators are secured and processed according to the applicable legal provisions,” he asserted.
He noted that Bareskrim Polri has been coordinating with the Central Kalimantan Regional Police and the Katingan District Police in the investigation and pursuit of the suspects. He urged members of the public who possess information regarding the whereabouts of the perpetrators to immediately report it to the police.
“We urge the community to support the law enforcement process by providing information that can assist the investigation. Every piece of information will be followed up,” he said.
Bareskrim Polri has ensured that the case will be investigated thoroughly as a form of commitment to providing justice for police officers who fall while performing their duties.
It is known that the raid on drug lords in Tumbang Kalemei Village, Katingan Tengah District, Katingan Regency, on Wednesday (1/7) in the early hours of the morning, met with resistance. During the operation, Aipda Yudhie passed away, while the whereabouts of two members of the Katingan District Police Narcotics Unit, Aiptu Sumaryanto and Bripda Nopandri Ramadhana, were initially unknown.
The incident began when the Katingan District Police Narcotics Unit acted on community information regarding the suspected distribution of methamphetamine in Tumbang Kalemei Village. Investigations led to a target operation identified by the initials BIO, known to be a narcotics recidivist.
A total of 12 personnel were deployed for the operation. Upon arrival at the location, the team was divided into two groups. The first team conducted enforcement at the target’s house, while the second team stood by at another location as support.
During the arrest process, the target was successfully secured. However, the situation escalated when several individuals inside the house and nearby residents resisted using sharp weapons, such as machetes. According to police reports, the crowd then grew and launched attacks using sharp weapons and improvised firearms.
As the situation became uncontrollable, personnel attempted to save themselves while requesting additional reinforcements. Several officers were forced to swim across the river and take shelter in the forest to avoid the mob’s attacks.
In the incident, Aipda Yudhie was found dead with wounds from sharp weapons. Meanwhile, Aiptu Sumaryanto and Bripda Nopandri Ramadhana were being searched for by the joint team.
