Bripda Nopandri Ramadhana, a member of the Katingan Police Narcotics Unit who was previously reported missing during a drug eradication operation in Tumbang Kalemei Village, Central Katingan District, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan, has been found dead. The news was conveyed by the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim Polri) Directorate of Narcotics Crime, which also expressed condolences over the officer’s death.

Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, stated that Bripda Nopandri died while carrying out his duties in a law enforcement operation against a drug trafficking network. “We express our deepest condolences to the family of Bripda Nopandri. The deceased died in the line of duty. May the deceased find the best place beside God Almighty and may the bereaved family be granted fortitude and strength,” said Brigadier General Eko in a statement on Saturday, 4 July 2026.

Brigadier General Eko stressed that the incident resulting in Bripda Nopandri’s death is a serious concern for Bareskrim Polri. A joint team is currently continuing the investigation while hunting down the suspects believed to be involved in the attack on police personnel. He stated that the law enforcement process will continue until all responsible parties are arrested. “The team is still pursuing the suspects believed to be involved. We will not stop until all perpetrators are secured and processed according to the applicable legal provisions,” he asserted.

He added that Bareskrim Polri has coordinated with the Central Kalimantan Regional Police and the Katingan Police to expedite the investigation and pursuit of the perpetrators. Furthermore, the police are also urging members of the public who have information regarding the whereabouts of the perpetrators to immediately report it to the authorities. “We urge the public to support the law enforcement process by providing information that can assist the investigation. We will follow up on every piece of information,” he said.

Bareskrim has assured that the case will be thoroughly investigated as a form of commitment to delivering justice for the police officer who died in the line of duty. Bripda Nopandri was previously declared missing after participating in a drug dealer raid operation in Tumbang Kalemei Village in the early hours of Wednesday, 1 July 2026.
