Bringing Ramadan Blessings, PLN West Java Installs 321 Free Electricity Connections

RAMADAN blessings come to Ami, a resident of Desa Kertaraharja, Panumbangan District, Ciamis Regency. Now our house has its own electricity. Especially this Ramadan. It feels like a dream come true. I hope PLN continues to advance and keeps helping small communities like us,’ Ami said, visibly moved. During Ramadan, PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi Jawa Barat (UID Jawa Barat) is lighting up hope for hundreds of residents through the Light Up The Dream program. The program is being rolled out simultaneously across West Java during Ramadan. Through this program, 321 underprivileged families and public facilities such as musala receive free electricity connections. As part of the series of activities, Sugeng Widodo, General Manager of PLN UID Jawa Barat, also performed a symbolic switch-on of the Light Up The Dream free electricity connection in Desa Kertaraharja, Panumbangan District, Ciamis Regency. The event was carried out together with Dandim 0613/Ciamis, Letkol Inf Antonius Ari Widiono; Wakapolres Ciamis, Komisaris Sujana; and Asisten Daerah II Kabupaten Ciamis, Dadang Darmawan. The program demonstrates PLN’s synergy with local government in bringing electricity access to those in need. Electricity connection to musala. Meanwhile, in Indramayu, free electricity connections are also provided to Musala Al Fatah. Through Light Up The Dream, PLN connects electricity so the musala now has adequate lighting to support worship and recitation. Ato, representative of Mushola Al Fatah, expressed thanks to PLN. ‘We are very grateful to PLN for this assistance. We have long desired to have our own electricity so that children’s Quran lessons and worship for the congregation are more comfortable. Alhamdulillah, in Ramadan 1447 H our prayers have been answered,’ he said. General Manager PLN UID Jawa Barat, Sugeng Widodo, explained that the Light Up The Dream program is a social movement funded by PLN employees and supported by Yayasan Baitul Maal (YBM) PLN UID Jawa Barat. ‘Ramadan is a moment to share and strengthen social care. Through the Light Up The Dream program, we want to ensure more people can enjoy electricity independently. The presence of electricity not only lights up homes, but also opens up opportunities to improve the quality of life for people,’ he added.
