Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia will once again host the Pertamina Grandly Prix of Indonesia (MotoGP™) 2026, scheduled to take place from 9–11 October 2026 at the Mandalika International Circuit, The Mandalika Area, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. This prestigious event serves not only as an international sporting arena but also as a key component in the development of tourism and economic activity in Mandalika.

BRI’s support for the hosting of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia (MotoGP™) 2026 is part of the company’s commitment to driving economic growth in tourism-based regions. The event also stimulates the economic activities of the community, ranging from trade, accommodation, and transport to local businesses. During the 2025 event, MotoGP Mandalika recorded 140,324 visitors.

BRI Corporate Secretary, Dhanny, stated that this prestigious racing event possesses significant leverage for tourism and economic activities in the surrounding areas.

“MotoGP Mandalika has a massive economic multiplier effect. The potential for money circulation of up to approximately Rp5 trillion demonstrates that an international sporting event can create a ripple effect that extends far beyond the racing arena. The presence of tourists will drive the hospitality, transport, culinary, trade, creative economy, and local MSME sectors. This is what BRI aims to continuously promote, ensuring that the MotoGP momentum not only brings pride to Indonesia but also creates business opportunities and new sources of economic growth for the community,” said Dhanny.

The presence of several world-class riders serves as a major attraction for this international racing event. As part of the activities, BRI will provide transaction services through BRImo, BRI Debit Cards, BRI Credit Cards, BRI QRIS, and BRI EDC to support the needs of visitors and business owners.

Furthermore, BRI is also strengthening sustainability aspects through the ‘Waste Management Warriors Mandalika’, introduced via BRI Peduli’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme and the #YokKitaGAS campaign. This initiative includes the provision of waste management facilities and Reverse Vending Machines (RVM) to support the collection of recyclable waste in the VIP Deluxe and Festival areas.

“BRI’s support for the MotoGP™ Mandalika 2026 activities is a form of integrated ecosystem partnership that connects sports, tourism, MSMEs, and sustainability within a single series of activities. Through this collaboration, we hope that the hosting of this event can provide broader benefits to the surrounding community, while simultaneously helping Indonesian sport tourism become more recognised globally,” concluded Dhanny.
