BRIN urges industry to use domestic research for innovation
Speaking at the BRIN Goes to Industry event, Satria highlighted the private sector’s critical role in advancing national innovation.
“The private sector, as market players, understands current needs, efficiency, economic feasibility, and financial viability,” he said.
He noted that some potential investors avoid domestic firms because products lack technological validation for commercialization.
“Validation is what I call technology incubation. Certain technologies may need refinement or enhancement. BRIN plays a crucial role in addressing specific industry needs,” Satria explained.
He called on industry partners to collaborate with BRIN, including through the Indonesia Innovation House, open to all seeking cooperation.
Satria said such collaboration is essential to accelerate technological and industrial downstreaming, ultimately improving public welfare.
“We aim to expedite the use of BRIN-produced technology and inventions for the benefit of the public, industry, businesses, and government,” he stated.
The event included a dialogue session with Satria and representatives from 50 industry partners.
Industry representatives shared experiences on licensing cooperation with BRIN, highlighting benefits gained and challenges faced in commercializing and utilizing licensed products.
