BRIN: SiDoni PMI Tangerang is Worthy of National Implementation
The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) has assessed that the integrated blood service system innovation named ‘SiDoni’, developed by the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Tangerang Regency, is worthy of being applied widely at a national level.
The Head of BRIN, Prof. Arif Satria, stated in Tangerang on Friday that the SiDon.Doni application is a domestic innovation deserving of national implementation due to its ability to comprehensively trace the blood service chain, from donors to patients in hospitals.
“The SiDoni application is the result of domestic innovation that is well-suited for national use. Because this application can holistically be traced within the system, starting from the donor up to the recipient or patient in the hospital,” said Arif.
Meanwhile, Dr Zainal Muttaqin explained that SiDoni does not only function as an information bridge for donors in the Tangerang Regency area—providing information on donation schedules, cross-blood type stocks, registration forms, and activity news—but also serves a broader purpose.
As a further development step, Zainal noted that the SiDoni application is being prepared to participate in the Innovation Summit and Expo (IISE), scheduled to take place in December 2026 at ICE BSD, Tangerang.
“Participation in this event is expected to provide a platform to introduce SiDoni more widely, while simultaneously opening opportunities for development and innovation collaboration in blood services at a larger scale,” he explained.
He added that this digital transformation is the primary strategy for PMI Tangerang Regency in delivering public services that are fast, easy, integrated, and accountable.
Through this system, it is hoped that the blood management ecosystem will become fully connected, from the donation process to its utilisation for patients in hospitals.
“Through synergy with BRIN, PMI Tangerang Regency is optimistic that this local innovation will not only serve as a regional solution but can also become an inspiration and strategic reference for the national blood service transformation in the future,” he said.
