BRIN Showcases 150–200 Innovation Products to President Prabowo

The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) showcased around 150–200 innovation products from 12 research clusters to President Prabowo Subianto during a meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday.

BRIN Head Arif Satria said all the products on display had undergone a curation process and represented various strategic research fields developed by BRIN.

“We have around 12 clusters. So 12 clusters, and after curation the products number more than 150, between 150 and 200 products,” he said.

According to Arif, President Prabowo was scheduled not only to hear presentations on research results but also to directly inspect the various innovation products and engage in dialogue with the researchers.

The products on display came from 12 research clusters, covering food, energy, health, transport, housing, space, aviation, nuclear, rare earth metals, as well as innovations supporting the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG) and the development of fishing villages.

Arif explained that not all of BRIN’s research results could be brought to the Palace because some were located in various regions and others were large in size, so only certain products were selected for display.

He said a number of the innovations shown were still at the refinement stage, but had prospects for further development and wider utilisation.

Previously, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the President had invited BRIN researchers to present research results supporting the government’s priority programmes, especially in the fields of food and energy.
