Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is strengthening the development of national research talent based on talent management through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with Ary Ginanjar University (UAG).

“What we need now are talented individuals in the field of research. Because great research is conducted by people who truly have passion for it,” said BRIN Head Arif Satria in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

Arif stated that the talent management approach is important to ensure that the development of human resources (research HR) can be carried out more targeted.

In addition, according to him, the ability to manage talent also becomes one of the important competencies needed in the future.

Arif also welcomed UAG’s contribution in supporting the strengthening of talent management through a data-based approach, including mapping individual interests and talents.

Through this collaboration, BRIN will also optimise various talent development programmes, from research funding, scholarships, to degree by research programmes and internships to prepare outstanding researchers for the future.

This cooperation is expected to strengthen BRIN’s role as the locomotive of national research and encourage the realisation of Indonesia as a research-based country.

Meanwhile, UAG Founder Ary Ginanjar Agustian emphasised the importance of early talent identification so that human resource development is not misguided.

Ary explained that UAG has developed a data-based talent management approach, which has been tested on around 1,100 BRIN researchers and will continue to thousands of other researchers.

“If we can find the right people and develop them, then our research will have a big impact. This is what we want to promote together, so that Indonesia in the future truly becomes a research-based country,” said Ary Ginanjar.
