The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is opening an internship programme for university students for the odd semester of 2026/2027. Registration for the programme opens on 2 July 2026.

BRIN’s Director of Talent Management, Ajeng Arum Sari, stated that the BRIN internship programme is a strategic pathway for preparing superior human resources in the field of research and innovation. “Research talent begins with university students. We hope that interns have a passion for research and will eventually become outstanding researchers capable of contributing on the world stage,” said Ajeng, as quoted from the BRIN website on Sunday, 5 July 2026.

In general, the programme is divided into two schemes. The first is a research and non-research internship for students on diploma 4 or bachelor’s degree programmes, lasting one semester or six months. The second is a final project research internship intended for students on diploma 4, bachelor’s (S1), master’s (S2), or doctoral (S3) programmes, with the duration adjusted to the research requirements.

Specifically for the research and non-research internship programme, registration is open from 2 to 7 July 2026 through the BRIN ELSA system. Meanwhile, the final project research programme is open throughout the year, with a selection process conducted every three months.

According to Ajeng, interns will receive mentoring from BRIN researchers and can also utilise various research facilities available at BRIN. “During the internship, participants do not need to worry about research needs because funding and research facilities are the responsibility of the supervisor,” she said.
