BRIN Blunder in Pancasila Image Post Prompts Apology
The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) accidentally posted an incorrect Garuda image on X (formerly Twitter) to mark Pancasila Day. The error prompted public criticism and a subsequent apology from BRIN. As reported by detikNews, BRIN’s X account initially shared a Garuda image on Monday, 1 June 2026, to commemorate Pancasila Day. However, netizens raised objections, stating the image did not meet the official specifications, particularly regarding the incomplete number of feathers on the wings and tail. It was reported that BRIN had used artificial intelligence (AI) to design the image. BRIN issued an apology later that afternoon, acknowledging the oversight in the design. “BRIN Indonesia offers its sincerest apologies for the error in the Pancasila Day content we shared,” the agency stated. “This serves as a lesson for us to be more meticulous, careful, and cautious in content creation and distribution moving forward.” BRIN thanked the public for their feedback and corrected the image to comply with official standards. “As part of our responsibility and internal evaluation, the content has been revised,” the agency added.
