BRIN Apologises After Incorrectly Posting Garuda Image on Pancasila Day

Social media was abuzz after the official account of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) posted an incorrect image of the Garuda emblem during Pancasila Day commemorations. BRIN issued an apology for the post. Initially, BRIN’s X account shared an image of the Garuda to mark Pancasila Day on Monday, 1 June 2026, but it drew criticism from netizens. The uploaded image was deemed inaccurate due to incomplete feathers on the wings and tail, with BRIN reportedly using artificial intelligence (AI) to design it. Later that afternoon, BRIN apologised for the error, citing a lack of care in the design process. ‘BRIN Indonesia offers its deepest apologies for the mistake in the Pancasila Day content we shared,’ the agency stated. ‘This serves as a lesson for us to be more meticulous, precise, and cautious in future content creation and dissemination,’ they added. BRIN thanked the public for their feedback and corrected the image to comply with official standards. ‘As part of our responsibility and internal review, the content has been amended,’ they noted.
