Brimob Vehicle Struck by Airport Train in Yogyakarta, No Fatalities
A vehicle belonging to the Yogyakarta Special Region Police’s Mobile Brigade (Brimob) was struck by an airport train (KA Bandara) at an unguarded level crossing on Thursday morning. The incident occurred at PJL 707 on the Rewulu-Sentolo track segment at Km 528+2/3 at approximately 08.15 WIB. Feni Novida Saragih, Public Relations Manager of KAI Operational Area 6 Yogyakarta, expressed deep regret over the collision and urged the public to always obey traffic signs and stop momentarily to ensure the track is clear before crossing. All crew and passengers aboard the airport train were reported safe, and the train was able to continue its journey at 08.25 WIB. KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta apologised to passengers for the disruption. Commander of Battalion B Pelopor of the Yogyakarta Police Brimob Unit, Kompol Muh Syarifudin, confirmed the driver and passengers were unharmed, noting only that the vehicle was dented. He explained the crossing had no barrier and the vehicle was on its way to a training exercise.
