Brimob Unit of Jakarta Metropolitan Police Arrests Stabbing Suspect in Duren Sawit Brawl
The Mobile Brigade (Brimob) unit of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police has arrested F (24), the suspect in a stabbing incident in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. F was apprehended in the early hours of the morning as the Brimob unit conducted a joint patrol with officers from the East Jakarta Metropolitan Police.
Brimob Unit Commander of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Henik Maryanto, revealed that the arrest was carried out after the patrol team received a report from the public regarding the stabbing incident on Wednesday (18 February).
“The Headquarters Patrol Team, together with territorial officers, immediately moved to follow up on the report to ensure the situation remained safe and under control. Upon arriving at the location, officers successfully secured a male suspect identified by the initial F (24),” Henik told reporters on Wednesday (18 February 2026).
Henik said the suspect was immediately taken into custody by the patrol team following his arrest. The suspect is currently being held at the Duren Sawit Sub-district Police Station in East Jakarta.
He confirmed that the Brimob patrol team of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police is committed to responding swiftly to community reports. He also urged the public to maintain order, avoid acts of violence, and promptly report any potential security disturbances through the emergency service number 110.
“Every potential security disturbance must be handled swiftly, precisely, and proportionately to keep the situation conducive. The presence of Brimob patrols on the ground is a tangible form of protection for the community, as well as an effort to maintain a sense of safety,” he concluded.
