Brimob Sterilises Madya GBK Stadium, Secures BIGU FEST 2026
Personnel from the Bomb Disposal Unit (Jibom) of the Gegana Detachment, Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, carried out a comprehensive sterilisation of the Madya Stadium area in Senayan, Central Jakarta. The sterilisation was conducted to secure the BIGU FEST 2026 event. “The activity was carried out before the event began to ensure that all areas used by the committee, performers, and visitors are in a safe condition and free from potential threats,” said Polda Metro Jaya Brimob Commander, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, in a statement on Saturday (4/7/2026). BIGU FEST 2026, also known as The Biggest Picnic Music Festival, is being held on 4-5 July 2026 at the Madya GBK Stadium, Jakarta. Henik stated that the sterilisation is a preventive measure taken to provide a sense of security to the public at every event involving large crowds. “We ensure that every stage of security is carried out professionally so that the public can participate in activities safely, comfortably, and conducively,” he said. Henik explained that the Jibom team inspected a number of points, including the artists’ rooms, backstage area, audio-video control centre, food court, main stage, sponsorship area, inner stadium ring, prayer room, and other public facilities. Based on the inspection results, Henik said no objects suspected of being bombs or other hazardous materials were found, and the location was declared safe for use. “After the sterilisation, personnel handed over the official inspection report to the event organiser as a form of security readiness before the series of activities takes place,” he said. Henik stated that this sterilisation is part of Polda Metro Jaya Brimob’s commitment to supporting the smooth running of various public agendas through measured and professional security. He urged the public to maintain order and comply with officers’ instructions during the event. “In an emergency or if police assistance is needed, the public can contact the 110 Police Service, which is available 24 hours a day,” he said.
