Brimob Polda Metro Invites Residents to Synergise in Preventing Public Order Disturbances
Jakarta Metro Police Mobile Brigade Chief, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, personally listened to residents’ grievances during the ‘Jaga Jakarta On The Spot’ activity at the RW 09 community hall in Rawa Bunga Urban Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta. His arrival was welcomed by residents. The activity was also attended by the Jakarta Metro Police Public Facilities Security Director, the Jatinegara Police Chief, neighbourhood administrators, community figures, and local residents. During the meeting, Senior Commissioner Henik stressed that the success of maintaining public security and order does not depend solely on the authorities, but also requires active community participation. ‘Prevention is more effectively carried out through shared awareness. When residents, community figures, and the police move in tandem, various potential disturbances can be minimised from the outset,’ said Senior Commissioner Henik in his statement on Tuesday. The Jakarta Metro Police Mobile Brigade Chief also conveyed that various inputs from residents regarding street fights, abuse of illegal drugs, and the circulation of alcoholic beverages are a shared concern for follow-up through preventive measures involving all stakeholders. ‘Good communication between the community and the authorities is an important foundation in creating a safe and comfortable environment for all residents,’ he stated. Several community representatives used the forum to convey aspirations and conditions faced in their neighbourhoods. Various proposals received direct responses from the police officers present, simultaneously strengthening the shared commitment to building a more effective and sustainable neighbourhood security system. ‘This forum also produced a mutual understanding to strengthen collaboration between the community and the authorities in preventing various forms of public order disturbances in residential areas,’ he concluded. Through this activity, the Jakarta Metro Police Mobile Brigade hopes that the established synergy can be continuously enhanced so that potential public order disturbances can be prevented as early as possible. Residents are also urged not to hesitate to report any incidents that could potentially disrupt security through the police service on 110, which is ready to serve 24 hours a day.
