Brimob Polda Metro Conducts Church Sterilisation to Ensure Safe Easter
The Gegana Detachment team from the Mobile Brigade Unit of the Metro Jaya Regional Police conducted sterilisation operations at several churches. This activity was carried out to ensure the security and comfort of the congregation in carrying out Easter worship.
The operation, involving the Jibom Unit, took place at 18 churches in the DKI Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas on Thursday (2/4/2026). Personnel conducted comprehensive inspections to ensure security so that worship could proceed smoothly.
Prior to the implementation, personnel coordinated with church security officials. Subsequently, the sterilisation was carried out thoroughly in the main areas and supporting facilities, from the worship rooms to the surrounding church environment.
“The inspection results showed no suspicious objects were found, so the locations were declared safe and ready for use,” said the Commander of the Mobile Brigade of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Kombes Henik Maryanto, in his statement.
Kombes Henik stated that this activity is a form of service from the Indonesian National Police in supporting the community’s religious activities.
“We ensure that every worship location is in a safe condition, so that the congregation can worship calmly and comfortably,” he said.
After the activity was completed, a handover was conducted with the church security personnel. This step is part of ongoing security measures to keep the situation conducive during the Easter celebrations.
The Indonesian National Police urges the public to jointly maintain order during worship activities. If they find anything suspicious, the public can immediately report it through the Polri 110 call centre service for quick follow-up.
