Brimob Polda Metro Assists in Securing Vital Infrastructure at Cimuning SPBE After Fire
Personnel from Battalion D Pelopor of the Brimob Unit of Polda Metro Jaya conducted security and fire handling at the Stasiun Pengisian Bulk Elpiji (SPBE) area of PT Indogas Andalan Kita, Cimuning, Mustika Jaya, Bekasi City. This was to maintain security during the handling process of the vital object at the site.
The fire occurred in the early hours of Thursday (2/4/2026). The fire at the LPG gas facility was brought under control by firefighters, while the apparatus ensured conditions remained safe for the surrounding community.
“In addition to assisting with securing the location, Brimob personnel also regulated traffic flow around the fire area to avoid congestion and provide space for firefighting vehicles,” stated the Commander of Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Henik Maryanto, in his statement on Thursday (2/4).
He said that the presence of Brimob represents the Indonesian National Police’s rapid response in handling emergency situations that have the potential to disrupt public safety. Handling fires at vital objects like SPBE requires readiness and synergy from all parties to minimise the resulting impacts.
“The presence of personnel in the field is also carried out to ensure the situation remains conducive while anticipating potential security disturbances around the location,” he added.
The cooling process lasted until around 04.00 WIB before it was declared safe by the firefighters. Subsequently, the Inafis Team conducted an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
“From monitoring results, the situation around the location has gradually returned to normal and community activities have resumed as usual,” he concluded.
The Indonesian National Police urges the public to remain vigilant against fire potential, especially in high-risk environments such as fuel storage. Residents are asked to report immediately if they find indications of danger through the Polri call centre 110 so that it can be followed up promptly and prevent similar incidents from recurring.
