Personnel from Battalion D Pioneer of the Brimob Unit, Polda Metro Jaya, assisted in extinguishing a fire during a night patrol in the Bekasi City area. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the incident.

Officers from Battalion D Pioneer were initially conducting a patrol within the jurisdiction of the Bekasi City Metro Police in the early hours of Wednesday (15/7/2026). During the patrol, officers responded swiftly to a public report via the 110 hotline regarding a house fire on Gang Bintara VIA, West Bekasi District.

Responding to the report, Brimob personnel immediately proceeded to the location. Upon arrival, they secured the area to ensure the handling process was safe and did not disturb local residents. Fortunately, there were no fatalities in the incident.

Brimob Polda Metro Jaya Commander, Commissioner Henik Maryanto, stated that the routine patrols are not solely focused on anticipating brawls, robberies, illegal street racing, and street crime. Commissioner Henik emphasised that his personnel must be ready to respond to any developing situation on the ground, including receiving information about fires.

“The presence of Brimob personnel in the field is a form of service to the community. Every piece of information received must be followed up quickly so that potential risks can be minimised and the public feels safe,” said Commissioner Henik in a statement to reporters.

After the situation at the fire location was declared safe and under control, the patrol resumed until the early morning. The personnel also took the time to perform the Subuh prayer in congregation with residents as part of the National Police’s humanistic approach, before returning to base to conduct checks on personnel, equipment, weaponry, and vehicles to ensure all duties were carried out properly.

During the patrol, personnel covered several vulnerable points, including Jalan Harapan Indah Boulevard, Jalan Sultan Agung, Jalan Kranji, and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. Commissioner Henik conveyed that the presence of officers at these various locations aims to prevent criminal acts and provide a sense of security to residents who are still active during the night and early morning hours.

The National Police urged the public to remain vigilant against potential security disturbances and fire hazards by ensuring that home electrical installations are in safe condition. If an incident requiring police presence occurs, the public is advised to immediately contact the Police 110 hotline for a swift, precise, and professional response.
