A joint patrol by the Brimob Pioneer Battalion C of the Metro Jaya Regional Police and the South Tangerang Police has arrested six people suspected of planning a street brawl in the Nurul Huda alley area, Ciputat. Officers seized nine sharp weapons during the operation.

Metro Jaya Police Brimob Commander, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, stated that the successful prevention of the brawl was the result of synergy between the police and the community in maintaining environmental security. He noted that information provided by residents served as a crucial basis for personnel on the ground to take swift and precise preventive measures.

“We will continue to be present to protect the community through patrols and preventive actions against any potential public order disturbances. Information from the public is extremely helpful for personnel in preventing brawls and other criminal acts before they result in casualties,” said Senior Commissioner Henik on Tuesday (4/8/2026).

The nine sharp weapons confiscated included six samurai swords, one sickle, one machete, and one gear. The swift action was a response to a public tip-off received through the Polri 110 call centre. The rapid response by the patrol team successfully prevented a potential clash.

Prior to the sweep, Brimob personnel participated in a joint roll call with South Tangerang Police officers, led by South Tangerang Police Chief AKBP Boy Jumali. The team then moved to comb several locations deemed prone to brawls. While in the Ciputat area, officers discovered six individuals suspected of planning a brawl along with the sharp weapons. The six suspects were detained for further investigation in accordance with applicable legal procedures.

The swift action to secure the suspects and evidence is part of the Metro Jaya Police Brimob Unit’s commitment to supporting the South Tangerang Police in creating a safe and conducive public security and order situation. Integrated patrols will continue to be intensified, particularly in locations with potential for security disturbances. The public is urged not to hesitate to report any indications of brawls, possession of sharp weapons, or other public order disturbances through the Polri 110 service or the nearest police station.

“Active community participation is expected to strengthen prevention efforts so that security and order in the South Tangerang area are maintained,” he said.
