Brimob Polda Metro Arrests 2 Youths About to Brawl in Ciracas, 4 Sharp Weapons Seized

A joint patrol team from the Brimob Pioneer Battalion B of the Polda Metro Jaya, together with the Precision Patrol of the East Jakarta Metro Police, detained two youths suspected of planning a street brawl in Ciracas, East Jakarta. Four sharp weapons and two motorcycles were seized.

The two youths were detained in the early hours of the morning in the Taman Ceria Ciracas area, East Jakarta. The incident began when officers received information from residents about a group of youths suspected of being about to engage in a brawl.

Officers then moved to the location. When approached, a number of youths attempted to flee from the officers.

“However, two people were successfully detained after the group was dispersed,” said Dansat Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, in his statement on Tuesday (25/8/2026).

Henik said routine patrols would continue to be intensified as a preventive measure against potential security disturbances. He confirmed that police personnel would patrol every night to prevent crime.

“The presence of personnel in the field is a preventive effort to maintain security and provide a sense of safety to the public. We also encourage the public to immediately report any information if they discover potential disturbances to public order and security,” he said.

The joint patrol is part of the Enhanced Routine Activities (KRYD) targeting potential 3C crimes, brawls, online gambling, and online fraud. Before the action in Ciracas, personnel visited a number of locations on Jalan Tanah Merdeka Selatan and Jalan Manunggal, Ciracas District, to ensure the situation remained safe and conducive.

The Indonesian National Police urged parents and the community to jointly supervise the activities of children and teenagers, especially at night and into the early hours. Henik said residents could report to the police 110 service if they found information about disturbances to public order and security in their surroundings.

“Members of the public who need police assistance or are aware of potential security disturbances can contact the police 110 service. Patrols and rapid response will continue to be carried out to keep the situation in Jakarta safe and conducive,” he concluded.

The two youths arrested during the early morning patrol, along with the evidence, were subsequently handed over to the East Jakarta Metro Police to undergo further processing in accordance with the law.
