Brimob PMJ and TNI Collaborate on Clean-Up, Bekasi Market Now Free of Flooding
Personnel from the Mobile Brigade Unit (Brimob) of Polda Metro Jaya have once again engaged in practical actions to preserve the environment. In collaboration with TNI personnel, members of Batalyon D Pelopor Brimob Polda Metro Jaya carried out a clean-up at Pasar Tegal Danas.
Dansat Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Henik Maryanto, stated that this activity is a form of the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) concern for the environment, as well as a tangible effort to maintain the comfort of public spaces. He emphasised that environmental cleanliness has a direct impact on public health and economic activities.
“The presence of Brimob is not only for security duties but also to provide real benefits through social actions that are directly felt by the community,” said Kombes Henik on Wednesday (22/4/2026).
The activity, held that morning, is part of the Gerakan ASRI programme. It focused on cleaning public facilities, water channels, and the market’s surrounding environment to prevent flooding and create comfort for the community.
Led by the Deputy Commander of Batalyon D Pelopor, this communal work involved dozens of combined personnel from Satbrimob Polda Metro Jaya, TNI, and local residents. Several areas inside and outside the market were targeted for the clean-up.
The activity also extended to irrigation areas and routes leading to Kalimalang Bridge, which had previously been prone to blockages due to rubbish.
The successful collaboration has resulted in a cleaner environment. Drainage channels are now free of rubbish blockages, reducing the potential for waterlogging.
“With this activity, the market environment is now more organised and comfortable. Moreover, the synergy between authorities and the community is further strengthened through direct on-the-ground cooperation,” he said.
The public is urged to continue maintaining environmental cleanliness by not littering indiscriminately and actively participating in preserving public facilities. If they encounter potential disruptions to public order and security or emergency situations, the community can immediately contact the police emergency line 110 for prompt handling.
