Brimob Patrols Foil Brawls in Jakarta, Six Arrested and Sickle Confiscated
The Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) conducted territorial patrols at several points in Jakarta. Officers broke up brawls in East Jakarta and West Jakarta. Dansat Brimob Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Henik Maryanto said officers patrolled Jalan Raya Bogor, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. Officers arrested four teenagers suspected of being involved in a brawl and confiscated two sickles. Officers continued sweeping the area and detained several youths suspected of planning an illegal street race in the Cipayung area. Henik said the joint patrols aim to prevent security disturbances that often occur at night and into the early hours. “A quick response to every report is part of the preventive measures to stop potential security disturbances from escalating in the community,” Henik said in a statement on Saturday (20/6/2026). Officers also patrolled the Kali Anyar area in Tambora, West Jakarta. Officers received a report from residents about a brawl at the location. “Upon arriving at the location, officers found two people suspected of being involved in a brawl and seized one sickle. Both were then taken to the Tambora Police Station for further investigation,” he said. The joint patrol continued monitoring activities at several points in the Jakarta area. Personnel also engaged in dialogue with community security officers (siskamling) and public protection officers (linmas) to exchange information regarding the security situation. Henik urged the public to report any security disturbances.
