Brimob Patrol in East Jakarta Detains 11 Teenagers and 5 Unregistered Motorcycles
The Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) detained 11 teenagers in the Duren Sawit area of East Jakarta. They were apprehended along with five motorcycles that lacked complete documentation. “They were detained after officers found several vehicles without documents during an inspection in the field,” said Metro Jaya Police Brimob Commander, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, on Monday (22/6/2026). He stated that the eleven teenagers were detained in the early hours of the morning during a routine patrol. “Prior to the action, the joint patrol combed several points in the East Jakarta area deemed prone to public order and security disturbances,” he explained. The activity was also conducted to prevent street crimes such as brawls, violent theft, theft, and motorcycle theft. “Every finding in the field will be followed up according to procedure to maintain public security and order,” he added. While patrolling the Taman Malaka Selatan area, officers encountered a group of teenagers with several motorcycles. The officers then inspected the motorcycles. “After the inspection, a number of riders could not show the documents for the vehicles they were riding. For further investigation, the teenagers and their vehicles were handed over to the Duren Sawit Police,” he concluded.
