The Brimob Metro Jaya Police unit demonstrated its commitment to serving the public beyond law enforcement. The elite police force showed its readiness in a humanitarian action to assist an accident victim. The alertness was displayed by personnel from Company 4, Pioneer Battalion B of the Brimob Metro Jaya Police while conducting a routine public order patrol in the North Jakarta area in the early hours of Saturday (11/7/2026). At that time, the patrol team received a report from an online motorcycle taxi driver regarding a traffic accident on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Sunter Jaya Village, Tanjung Priok District. Upon arriving at the location, Brimob personnel together with the North Jakarta Metro Resort Police immediately provided assistance to the accident victim, a motorcyclist who had hit an unidentified waste picker. The victim was then evacuated to Koja Hospital to receive medical treatment. Brimob Metro Jaya Police Commander, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, stated that the personnel’s rapid response during patrol is a manifestation of the National Police’s commitment to being present within the community. Acting quickly on the ground during the golden time is expected to minimise the fatality rate of accident victims. ‘Speed of action in the field is our priority so that members of the public who need help can receive immediate treatment. We will continue to strengthen synergy with territorial units to provide a sense of security and the best service to the community,’ said Senior Commissioner Henik. After the evacuation process, the joint personnel resumed patrols to several points in the Koja, Tanjung Priok, Papanggo, Sunter Agung, and Pademangan areas. Until the patrol concluded, the public order and security situation in the North Jakarta Resort Police jurisdiction was monitored as safe and conducive without any significant security disturbances. Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto added that routine patrols represent the National Police’s presence in providing a sense of security as well as service to the community. The patrol activities targeted several vulnerable points to anticipate 3C crimes (theft with violence, theft with aggravation, and motor vehicle theft) as well as potential brawls, while ensuring the public can carry out their activities and rest safely. ‘The presence of Brimob personnel in the field is not only to maintain a conducive public order and security situation, but also to ensure the public receives rapid assistance when facing emergency situations. This is a tangible form of National Police service to the community,’ he added. Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, urged the public to always be careful when driving, obey traffic regulations, and immediately report any potential public order disturbances or emergency situations through the Police Call Centre 110, which is ready to serve the public 24 hours a day.
