Brimob Launches ASRI Movement to Clean Up Kaligaga Beach

The Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) carried out the ASRI (Aman, Sehat, Resik, dan Indah – Safe, Healthy, Clean, and Beautiful) movement along the Kaligaga coast in North Jakarta. Police assisted in removing rubbish from the area.

“This is an environmental clean-up of the Kaligaga beachfront. The activity is an implementation of the ASRI Movement,” said Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade Commander, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, to reporters on Tuesday (11/8/2026).

A total of 25 personnel from Company 2, Pioneer Battalion A of the Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade were deployed for the activity. Three rubbish trucks and a number of other tools were prepared to transport waste from the coastline to the river channels.

“The clean-up of the beachfront and the river channels leading to Kaligaga was carried out to make the area cleaner and is expected to improve public health and comfort,” he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commander of Pioneer Battalion A, Police Commissioner Sunarto, described the activity as a form of the Indonesian National Police’s concern for environmental cleanliness. Police also encouraged the public to work together in protecting the environment.

“A more ASRI environment creates a cool atmosphere, free of rubbish, and pleasant to look at. It raises public awareness about the importance of cleanliness,” he added.
