A fire broke out at two kiosks in Ciputat, South Tangerang (Tangsel). The Metro Jaya Regional Police Brimob unit deployed tactical water cannon vehicles to assist in extinguishing the flames.

“Brimob deployed the Disaster Response Team and Armoured Water Cannon (AWC) tactical vehicles to support the firefighting process alongside officials from the Fire Department,” stated the Commander of Brimob Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Henik Maryanto, in a statement on Thursday (2/7/2026).

The fire, which occurred on Thursday (2/7) on Jalan Otista Raya, Ciputat, Tangsel, burnt down two kiosks. Kombes Henik Maryanto noted that these swift measures helped accelerate fire control while maintaining security in the surrounding area.

Henik stated that the presence of Brimob personnel is part of the National Police’s rapid response to assist the public in facing emergency situations. Synergy with relevant agencies is a crucial factor in ensuring that disaster management is carried out effectively and its impact is minimised.

“We strive to be present as quickly as possible to assist the community whenever an emergency occurs. Brimob will continue to synergise with all agencies so that disaster management runs optimally and the public feels safe,” he said.

During the firefighting process, Brimob personnel also assisted in securing the area to prevent crowds from gathering and to ensure that access for officers to the fire site remained open. These efforts were undertaken to support the smooth progress of the firefighting operations until the fire was successfully controlled.

“The National Police urge the public to immediately contact the 110 emergency service if they encounter a fire or conditions that endanger safety. Rapid reporting allows officers to move earlier, thereby minimising the risk of the fire spreading and reducing the impact on the community,” he concluded.
