Brimob Conducts East Jakarta Patrols, apprehends Several Street Fight suspects
Patrols began with a readiness inspection led by East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner Alfian Nurrizal on Tuesday evening (26 May 2026). The team then conducted sweeps of high-risk areas including Jalan Cipinang Jaya Raya, Jalan Jengki Makassar, Pasar Rebo flyover, and Pasar Rebo district.
Brimob Jakarta Metro Police Commander Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto stated that the presence of personnel aims to ensure public safety. The operation focused on preventing street fights, illegal racing, prohibited drugs, illegal alcohol, and other street crimes that disturb the community.
During the patrol, the team received a report of a street fight in Tanah Merdeka, Ciracas, East Jakarta. officers arrested several youths along with evidence, who were subsequently taken to Ciracas Police Station.
Henik emphasised that the patrol is a preventive measure to suppress potential security threats while ensuring a conducive environment. The police urged the public to report any public order and security concerns via the Polri emergency line 110.
‘This joint patrol is the state’s presence among the community. We aim to ensure residents feel safe and comfortable, especially during vulnerable hours. Every citizen report will be addressed promptly and methodically,’ said Senior Commissioner Henik in a statement on Tuesday (26 May).
