Brimob Bali Police Unit Assists in Clearing Traffic Congestion to Gilimanuk Port
Denpasar (ANTARA) — Personnel from Brimob of the Bali Regional Police (Polda) have been deployed to assist in clearing vehicle congestion heading to Gilimanuk Port during peak mudik (homecoming) traffic on Monday.
Ariasandy, Head of Public Relations for Polda Bali, stated that Brimob personnel were deployed as the third day of peak mudik traffic arrived, with queues of vehicles heading to the port still extensive due to high mobility amongst residents seeking to cross to Java Island.
Vehicle congestion has occurred due to the high number of mudik travellers arriving from various regions, whilst the number of operating docks and vessels has not increased.
Ariasandy revealed that to ease the congestion, the police are implementing traffic management and engineering at several points leading to the port.
Beyond deploying personnel from the traffic unit, the police have also mobilised Brimob personnel to help regulate vehicle flow on routes to the port.
Ariasandy stated that the deployment of Brimob personnel forms part of efforts to provide service to the public during the mudik period.
“We continue to optimise personnel in the field to help clear vehicle congestion heading to Gilimanuk Port. The presence of Brimob on these queuing routes represents our full support in providing service to the public so that mudik traffic remains orderly and safe,” he said.
He explained that all personnel involved in Operation Ketupat Agung 2026 continue to strive to ensure smooth vehicle flow whilst guaranteeing that mudik travellers’ journeys are conducted safely and orderly.
In the field, Brimob personnel do not only conduct traffic management, but also issue appeals to mudik travellers to remain orderly in following vehicle queues.
Ariasandy added that all personnel involved in the operation have also been reminded to maintain their health condition amid the high intensity of duties during the mudik security operation.
“All personnel involved in Operation Ketupat Agung 2026 are expected to maintain their health so that they can provide service to the public optimally until this operation concludes,” he said.
