Sumbawa, VIVA – The limitations of banking access in remote villages have not deterred a resident of West Nusa Tenggara from providing a solution. Through BRILink services, financial access is now closer for the community.

For residents of Dusun Bukit Tinggi, Desa Dete, Kecamatan Lape, West Nusa Tenggara, banking activities were previously not easy. To carry out transactions such as transfers or cash withdrawals, the community had to travel quite far to the nearest bank branch.

This situation prompted Rieche Endah to bring a closer financial solution to the community. Since 2013, she has been running BRILink Agent services to facilitate access to banking transactions for those around her.

“I started becoming a BRILink Agent in 2013. At that time, I saw many people struggling with transactions because the distance to the bank was quite far. I thought that if there was a service that could help them transact closer, it would be very helpful,” said Rieche in her statement received by VIVA on Monday (23/3/2026).

Initially, the service was run simply, serving basic needs like fund transfers and cash withdrawals. Over time, the community began to know and utilise the service.

Public trust has continued to grow. Residents who previously had to travel far now have a more practical transaction alternative. Even small business operators have felt the benefits in supporting their daily business activities.

“Now, it’s not just the local community who come. There are also small entrepreneurs and newcomers who carry out transfer or cash withdrawal transactions here. Alhamdulillah, many feel helped,” she said.

As the business developed, the services became more widely known. However, the journey as a BRILink agent also faces various challenges, particularly related to transaction risks and potential fraud.

“The challenges are actually quite numerous. Sometimes there are concerns if there is a wrong transfer or a fraud scheme. But fortunately, so far, we have been assisted by BRI officers in recognising fraud schemes. Thus, everything can still be controlled well because we are more careful in every transaction,” said Rieche.

More than a decade of experience has made her increasingly skilled in running the business, including in maintaining meticulousness and public trust.
