Brigpol Khafidatun Nisa has served for 10 years safeguarding the handling of violence cases against women and children. Several molestation and rape cases have been successfully uncovered by the female police officer, familiarly known as Brigpol Fiti.

For her dedication, Brigpol Fifi has been nominated for the 2026 Hoegeng Awards programme. Brigpol Fifi currently serves as the Head of Unit IV PPA at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Lombok Police Resort, NTB Regional Police.

Testimonies about Brigpol Fifi’s character in her duties were shared by one of them, Hanifa Ramadhanti, an Expert Staff Mediator and Counsellor at the Women’s and Children’s Protection Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD PPA) in East Lombok. Hanifa said she often interacts with Brigpol Fifi in handling women’s and children’s violence cases in East Lombok.

“Coincidentally, during case handling, especially, we work with the PPA unit at the Police Resort, particularly Ms Fifi as the female investigator; we often communicate and coordinate. From reporting, then at the SPKT, to accompanying the medical examination up to accompaniment from PPA,” said Hanifa when contacted on Friday (13/3/2026).

So far, Hanifa said, coordination between UPTD PPA and the Police Resort has gone well. Every development and stage of case handling is always communicated and accompanied.

“Ms Fifi is also very helpful, especially in accompanying medical examinations, because police accompaniment for medical exams must include the female investigator. So when accompanying the medical exam, we are greatly assisted by Ms Fifi. We are allowed to join to provide services, especially for the victim’s family,” she added.

Hanifa also said there were no significant difficulties in coordinating with Brigpol Fifi. For Hanifa, Brigpol Fifi is a professional police officer.

“She has high professionalism, 24 hours on duty, never off. If I ask Ms Fifi for handling outside working hours, it’s okay. So whenever there’s case handling outside working hours, for example at night, we accompany, and Ms Fifi is ready,” she added.

In addition, Hanifa appreciated the approach taken by Brigpol Fifi in handling cases involving women and children. Victims, Hanifa said, are usually more open when Brigpol Fifi handles the case directly.

“Because most victims are women and children, they are afraid if examined by a male police officer. So when with Ms Fifi, she asks with a good approach,” Hanifa added.

She is grateful for the good cooperation with Brigpol Fifi so far. That coordination makes each party’s work easier in handling cases.

“We are very, well, very helped by Ms Fifi, especially she really helps our work too, we back each other up. So far, alhamdulillah, our relationship with the PPA Police Resort is also very good,” she said.

Brigpol Fifi’s Track Record in Uncovering Cases

Brigpol Fifi was previously a candidate for Hoegeng Corner 2025. Fifi has been serving in PPA since 2015.

She recounted uncovering three molestation and rape cases against dozens of children at the same time.

The three cases handled simultaneously were two rape cases at two Islamic boarding schools in Sikur Subdistrict and one child molestation case at a boarding school in Wanasaba.

In the first two cases, the perpetrators were the leaders of each boarding school in Sikur, initials HSN and LMI. The victims are suspected to number more than 40.

“One of them was sexual intercourse with a child that occurred at an Islamic boarding school; it went viral and attracted public attention because they happened consecutively,” said Brigpol Fifi to detikcom on Monday (3/11/2025).

Brigpol Fifi revealed several challenges in uncovering this case. She said the perpetrators did not admit their actions even until the trial.

“There was a report from a victim who was studying there, reported by the victim’s parents; at that time, from the victim’s and witness statements, there was no initial match, and the suspect also did not admit it; then we conducted an investigation, and preliminary evidence was obtained, so the case proceeded to investigation,” she said.

It took weeks for Brigpol Fifi and her team to uncover this case. She also involved a psychologist because the victims were traumatised.

“This one took quite a few weeks to uncover the case, because there was no match between the victim’s statements and other witnesses, and the suspect also refused to admit it; at that time, we conducted psychological examinations of the victim and the perpetrator; it took about a month before it could be uncovered,” she explained.

The modus operandi of the two perpetrators was almost the same. The perpetrators deceived the victims that they would enter heaven if they obeyed the perpetrators’ wishes.

“The heaven entry modus. Two boarding schools, the modus is almost the same, promising entry to heaven. So the victims were indoctrinated; if they obeyed the perpetrator’s orders, they would enter heaven,” Fifi said.

This case proceeded to trial. The two perpetrators have been sentenced.

“The perpetrators until the trial did not want to reveal the truth; they have been sentenced, 10 or 12 years (in prison), around that sentence,” she explained.

The third case handled by Brigpol Fifi at the same time was child molestation at an Islamic boarding school in Wanasaba. The victim then reported to the police, and the perpetrator was successfully secured.

For her actions in handling the three cases close together, Brigpol Fifi received awards from the NTB Police Chief and the Quick Reaction Team for Women’s and Children’s Protection (TRC PPA).

“We received an award from the Quick Reaction Team for uncovering child cases that occurred at Islamic boarding schools. At that time, we handled three at boarding schools. Two were child sexual intercourse, one molestation. Cases at three different boarding schools, close in time,” she said.

Another memorable case handled by Brigpol Fifi was robbery with violence in East Lombok. The victim’s belongings were stolen, and the victim was raped by the perpetrator.
