Bright spot
amid bad news

My local newspaper listed the events that made news throughout
the year. Almost all were "bad news" events. Doom, gloom,
bloodshed and slaughter.

I'm pleased to say that the election of Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono as President of Indonesia was one of the few "good
news" stories listed.

I extend my best wishes to the people of Indonesia with the
hope that under the new President, Indonesia will enjoy the
beginning of a new and prosperous era.
