Rector of Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI), Mochamad Wahyudi, stated that legal science is a field that will always be needed because it serves as the foundation for maintaining order, justice, and certainty in social and business life. “As technology develops rapidly and economic activities become more complex, the need for professionals who understand legal aspects is actually increasing. Almost all sectors require law graduates to ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with regulations and principles of justice,” said Prof Wahyudi. According to Prof. Wahyudi, many prospective students still have a narrow understanding of law degrees. In fact, legal science not only studies legislation but also develops critical, analytical, and argumentative thinking skills that are highly needed in various professions. A law degree is a field of study that examines the legal system, legislation, citizens’ rights and obligations, dispute resolution, and various legal aspects related to social, governmental, and business life. “Law students do not just learn to memorise articles. They are trained to analyse cases, understand problems from various perspectives, construct logical arguments, and find solutions that align with legal principles and justice,” he said. He added that these abilities are important provisions for facing the various challenges of the modern workplace, which requires professionals with systematic thinking skills and analysis-based decision-making. One of the advantages of a law degree is the wide range of career opportunities available to its graduates. Besides becoming advocates, judges, prosecutors, or notaries after fulfilling the applicable professional requirements, law graduates also have significant opportunities to pursue careers in various other sectors.
