Brigadier Rizka, Who Murdered Her Husband, Officially Dismissed from Police Force

Brigadier Rizka Sintiyani has been officially dismissed as a member of the police force. Rizka is a policewoman who stood trial for the murder of her husband, Brigadier Esco Faska Rely. The dismissal is based on the decision of the Indonesian National Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKE_P) held by the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTB).

“The result of the ethics trial is PTDH (dishonourable discharge),” stated the Head of Public Relations for Polda NTB, Kombes Mohammad Kholid, on Tuesday (30/06/2026).

Rizka received the PTDH sanction after being found in violation of Article 13, Paragraph (1) of Government Regulation Number 1 of 2003 concerning the Dismissal of National Police Members, in conjunction with Article 5, Paragraph (1) letter b and/or Article 13 letter h and/or Article 13 letter m of the Indonesian National Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022 regarding the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics Commission.

“(Rizka’s dismissal) is based on the verdict of the ethics trial at Polda NTB,” Kholid added.

Rizka had previously been found guilty in the murder case of her husband, Brigadier Esco. The Mataram District Court judge sentenced Rizka to 10 years in prison.

The presiding judge, I Putu Suyoga, stated that Rizka Sintiyani was proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing domestic physical violence that resulted in the victim’s death. The judge’s sentence was four years lighter than the prosecution’s demand.

In addition to Rizka, there were four other defendants in the case: Siaun, Nuraini, Paozi, and Dani Rifkan. These four defendants were sentenced to eight months and seven days in prison after being proven to be involved in concealing the body of Brigadier Esco.

As background, Brigadier Esco was found dead in a gruesome manner in the backyard of his house in Nyiur Lembang Hamlet, Jembatan Gantung Village, Lembar District, West Lombok, on 24 August 2025. The body of the Sekotong Police Sub-district intelligence officer was found decomposing with his neck tied with a rope under a tree.

Initially, it was suspected that Esco had died by suicide. However, based on the results of investigations and inquiries, the police found evidence that Esco had been murdered. The West Lombok Resort Police subsequently named five suspects, including Brigadier Rizka, who was the wife of Brigadier Esco.
