Brigadier Renita Rismayanti, a member of the Indonesian National Police International Relations Division, has won the 2026 Hoegerm Awards in the Innovative Police category. This award was granted in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to the migration and digitalisation of criminal data during her deployment in a United Nations peacekeeping mission.

Brigadier Renita served as a Crime Database Officer for the MINUSCA mission in the Central African Republic between 2023 and 2024. During her tenure, she initiated two major projects that significantly improved the efficiency of international policing operations.

“I implemented innovations while serving in the MINUSCA mission area, where I managed two pilot projects,” Renita stated at The Tribrata, Jakarta, on Friday (31/07/2026).

Her first innovation involved database automation. Previously, data collection was conducted manually; however, Renita integrated this data into the United Nations’ ‘Unite Aware’ platform. “This allowed our database registry to be more detailed and effective, enabling us to generate real-time statistics,” she explained.

Additionally, Renita assisted in the digitalisation of local police data in the Central African Republic. She acted as the conceptual architect for building a criminal database for the local police force, which previously lacked any data recording system.

Despite her achievements being recognised by the UN and receiving the Hoegeng Award, Brigadier Renita remained humble, attributing her success to teamwork and leadership support. “I was not necessarily the best compared to others; I was simply in the right place at the right time. My work there was the result of team collaboration, and I am grateful to my Chief of Section for initiating the idea,”

For Renita, the 2026 Hoegeng Award is not merely a point of pride but a significant responsibility to continue delivering excellence for the Indonesian National Police and the public. She also expressed her deepest appreciation to the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the Head of the International Relations Division for their full support during her overseas assignment.

The Innovative Police category focuses on innovations produced by police officers, evaluating criteria such as policy or programme innovations, their impact, and the level of appreciation from both the professional environment and the community. The Hoegeng Awards is a collaborative programme between detikcom and the Indonesian National Police to honour exemplary officers.
