The Mataram District Court in West Nusa Tenggara has handed down verdicts in the case concerning the death of Brigadier Muhammad Nurhadi. Presiding Judge Lalu Moh. Sandi Iramaya sentenced I Gde Aris Chandra Widianto to eight years imprisonment and I Made Yogi Purusa Utama to 14 years imprisonment on Monday, 9 March 2026.

The court determined that Gde Aris Chandra Widianto’s actions constituted aggravated assault and obstruction by tampering with evidence during the police investigation phase. According to the prosecutor’s charges, Widianto violated Article 468(1) of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and Article 221(1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 letters a or c of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.

For the offence, the court ordered Widianto to pay 385 million rupiah in restitution to the heirs of Brigadier Nurhadi, as calculated by the Witness and Victim Protection Institution (LPSK). Should payment not be made within 30 days, the prosecutor may seize the defendant’s assets and income. If seized assets prove insufficient, Widianto must serve an additional two years imprisonment.

I Made Yogi Purusa Utama, the second defendant, received a 14-year sentence in accordance with the prosecutor’s recommendation. The court found that Yogi’s actions satisfied the elements of murder under Article 458(1) of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and Article 221(1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 letters a or c of the same law. Yogi was also ordered to pay 385 million rupiah in restitution, with a two-year alternative imprisonment term if payment is not made within 30 days.

The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police had previously announced that Colonel I Made Yogi Purusa Utama would be dishonourably discharged from the police service.
