A significant number of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles became trapped in severe traffic congestion after flooding struck Brigadier General M. Yoenoes Road in Kendari, South-East Sulawesi on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

The inundation of this main arterial road was caused by an overflow of the drainage system following heavy rainfall that affected the region from early morning. The resulting flood submerged the roadway, forcing vehicles to navigate through the floodwaters and creating a traffic jam extending 500 metres along the route.

Both motorcyclists and car drivers were seen attempting to cross through the flooded section as the intensity of the rainfall overwhelmed the drainage infrastructure in the area.
