Brigade Joxzin Confirms Murder Suspect in Bantul is Not a Member
Brigade Joxzin has stated that the murder suspect in Argomulyo, Sedayu, Bantul, is not affiliated with Joxzin. Joxzin hopes the murder suspect with initials SS (29) will be punished according to his actions.
“No, the suspect is not a member of Joxzin,” said Mohamad Novweni, a member of Brigade Joxzin’s Legal and Human Rights team, when contacted by detikJogja on Tuesday (10/3/2026).
Novweni stated that the victim and suspect SS (29) already knew each other. Novweni assessed their relationship was one of friendship.
“What is clear is that both of them already knew each other,” he said.
Joxzin suspects there was an element of revenge connected to the murder. The victim and perpetrator reportedly had previously quarrelled.
“We don’t yet know the motive, but the friends still suspect there was an element of revenge. From the perspective of friends who also knew them, it seems like personal animosity because there had been friction between them previously,” he explained.
Novweni also hopes SS receives punishment commensurate with his actions. Joxzin has handed over all case handling to Bantul Police Station.
“From the Joxzin friends, we demand the suspect be punished according to his actions. Besides that, there is an instruction for Joxzin friends to exercise restraint and hand over all case handling to Bantul Police Station,” he stated.
As previously reported, police arrested the perpetrator of the Joxzin member’s murder in Kaliurang, Argomulyo, Sedayu, Bantul. The perpetrator was arrested in Sedayu, Bantul on Thursday (5/3).
Bantul Police Station’s Public Relations Chief, Inspector Rita Hidayanto, said that after investigation involving witness statements and analysis of CCTV footage, police obtained the perpetrator’s identity and made the arrest. Two individuals were secured, with initials SS (29) and FS (22). Both, Rita continued, are residents of Gamping, Sleman.
“SS’s role is as the executor and has been designated as the suspect. FS’s role is as a driver who transported SS, and FS is currently still being interrogated,” Rita told reporters in Bantul on Thursday (5/3).
Police stated the murder motive was due to the perpetrator feeling hurt by the victim. “It was a matter of hurt feelings; the suspect felt offended by the victim’s remarks,” explained Rita.
