Briefing no-show to result in penalties

JAKARTA: The International Badminton Federation will penalize athletes who refuse to attend a scheduled media conference, an IBF official said here on Thursday.

IBF spokesman Keith Hawthorne said disciplinary action could be taken against such players according to regulations. Penalties are determined on a case-by-case basis.

The most common punishment is probation, which could end in an athlete being permanently banned. -JP
