Bridges and boreholes open new access for regional residents
The construction of bridges and clean water sources in various regions, inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto online, has opened new access for communities, from making it easier for children to attend school to fulfilling daily water needs.
A resident of Bayah, Lebak Regency, Banten, Agus Sutisna, shared that the new bridge has significantly benefited his family. Previously, he had to escort his child to school via a detour of approximately seven kilometres along a national road, a journey taking 25 to 30 minutes.
Benefits of the bridge construction were also felt by residents in Manokwari, Papua Barat. Community representative Rumerus explained that for six years, locals had to cross a river to carry out their daily activities. “We are very grateful because you have paid attention to us, especially our children and grandchildren who are in school. Also our mothers and fathers who trade,” Rumerus said.
Meanwhile, the construction of five borehole points on Raas Island, Madura, has provided clean water access for the island community. A resident representative expressed gratitude to President Prabowo, stating that the new water sources are a great help for the local population.
President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated a total of 3,395 TNI-Polri bridges and 3,000 Army clean water sources from the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. He urged residents to take good care of the new infrastructure. “The most important thing is to maintain the bridges so they can be used in the long term. Also, follow the instructions, perhaps there are weight limits or restrictions on what can pass at any given time,” the President advised.
