A bride-to-be in Tlogowungu, Pati, caused a stir after fleeing six hours before her wedding ceremony. Police found the 19-year-old woman, identified as NAS, staying with her ex-boyfriend at a hotel in Jepara. As a result, her fiancé decided to cancel the wedding.

The incident occurred on Thursday, 21 May. NAS was scheduled to marry Musalim, a 33-year-old resident of Tlogowungu, at 9:00 AM WIB.

However, around 3:00 AM, NAS contacted DF, an 18-year-old man suspected to be her ex-boyfriend. DF helped her leave the house. By 3:30 AM, her family realised she was missing and reported it to the police.

‘The female family of NAS (19) visited Tlogowungu Police Station today to report her disappearance without notice,’ said Pati Police Public Relations Officer Ipda Hafid Amin, cited from detikJateng on Sunday, 24 May 2026.

‘The female family reported her absence at around 3:30 AM on Thursday, 21 May,’ he added.

Pati Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief Kompol Dika Hadian Widya Wiratama confirmed NAS left the house with assistance from a man.

‘The sequence of events confirms the bride left the house with help from a male companion at 3:00 AM,’ said Dika on Saturday, 23 May 2026.

‘She contacted the male companion to help her leave the house, as her wedding was scheduled for 9:00 AM,’ he added.

Police traced NAS’s whereabouts and located her at 5:15 AM on Saturday, 23 May at RedDoorz Near Turut Hotel in Jepara. She was with DF, and a Honda Beat Street motorcycle was found at the scene.

‘Both were detained by officers at 5:15 AM on Saturday, 23 May 2026, at a hotel in Jepara Regency,’ said Tlogowungu Police Chief AKP Mujahid.

‘The man is suspected to be her boyfriend,’ Mujahid added.

Wedding Cancelled

After police mediation, Musalim decided to cancel the wedding and did not file an official police report.

‘Formally, no report was filed. The female family simply asked us to help locate her,’ Mujahid said on Sunday, 24 May 2026.

‘They chose not to proceed with a formal report and have accepted the situation amicably, with no official police complaint,’ he added.

‘The groom has cancelled the wedding and does not wish to proceed,’ Mujahid stated.
