Bride and groom lament shattered wedding dreams after Marwah organiser scam

JAKARTA - Bride and groom victims of alleged wedding organiser (WO) Marwah fraud, Aldi (32) and Feny (32), are left with trauma and disappointment after their Bekasi, West Java, wedding reception ended in chaos.

The moment that should have been the happiest day turned into a nightmare they can’t forget.

Their years of savings were wiped out without being able to hold their dream wedding.

“Regarding the savings, alhamdulillah we had both been saving for a long time,” Aldi said via WhatsApp on Thursday (28/5/2026).

After the funds were accumulated, they were just finalising plans for the wedding this year.

“The money was ready, we were just finalising the plans for the wedding this year. But the event didn’t go as we hoped,” Aldi said.

Amid lingering disappointment, Aldi hopes the case reported to police will soon see clarity.

He demands the owner of wedding organiser Marwah be arrested and held accountable for the losses.

“There’s no new information on the suspect. As for the report, insya Allah it’s complete. The search was conducted on Monday; now we’re just waiting for the next summons,” Aldi said.

Feny recounted how she first contacted Marwah WO via Instagram.

She was drawn in after seeing promotional material and package details, then requested a price list.

Preparations began with Feny paying a deposit, followed by a food tasting session provided by the WO.

“I paid the deposit first. After that, I did the food tasting. I went directly to Marwah’s event,” Feny said.
