Moscow (ANTARA) - The foreign ministers of the BRICS member states have called on the international community to continue supporting the Palestinian people in their efforts to achieve independence and sovereignty.
This was stated in the document resulting from the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, which was released on Friday.
“The ministers recognize the Gaza Strip as an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory.”
In this regard, the BRICS foreign ministers reaffirmed the importance of “unifying the West Bank and Gaza Strip under the Palestinian Authority” and affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including the right to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

Furthermore, the BRICS foreign ministers called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, as well as the complete withdrawal of Zionist Israeli forces from the territory.
“The ministers urge all parties involved to engage in good faith in further negotiations to achieve an immediate, permanent and unconditional ceasefire, and the complete withdrawal of Israeli personnel from the Gaza Strip and all other parts of the Occupied Palestinian Territory,” the statement said.
The BRICS foreign ministers also called for the immediate release of all hostages and the guarantee of the continuous and unimpeded distribution of humanitarian aid.
