PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) is reminding the public to be wary of fake websites that appear to be the company’s official site. This is part of phishing tactics that can deceive customers into entering personal data.

The company urges customers to always double-check the official website address (URL) before accessing digital services to avoid phishing threats through fake websites.

“BRI advises the public not to easily trust suspicious links. Always ensure access to services through official BRI channels and never share personal data with anyone,” said BRI’s IT Director Saladin D. Effendi in his statement in Jakarta, quoted on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

Furthermore, Saladin explained that one of the most common methods used by perpetrators is distributing fake links through text messages, emails, or chat applications.

These links usually resemble the official appearance and aim to steal sensitive data such as user IDs, PINs, passwords, and OTP codes through social engineering techniques.

As a preventive measure, BRI invites the public to only use and access services through the company’s official channels, such as the official BRI website at https://bri.co.id and BRI internet banking at https://ib.bri.co.id.

BRI emphasises that the company never requests customers’ sensitive data such as PINs, passwords, or OTP codes through links or unofficial parties.
