BRI Supports BWB Expo 2026 in Bali to Strengthen Global Competitiveness of National Wellness and Beauty Industry
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, known as BRI, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening MSMEs and developing the national wellness industry through its support for the Bali Wellness and Beauty Expo (BWB Expo) 2026. Working alongside the Ministry of MSMEs and the Ministry of Tourism, this international event is expected to serve as a strategic platform to expand market access, strengthen cross-sector collaboration, and enhance the global competitiveness of Indonesian wellness and beauty entrepreneurs.
As part of the BWB Expo 2026 proceedings, BRI President Director Hery Gunardi, alongside the Deputy Minister of MSMEs Helvi Moraza and the Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Enik Ermawati, attended the event at the Bali Beach Convention Centre on Friday (5/6/2026). The event, themed “Thrive in Bali: Where Wellness Inspires the World” and held from 4–6 June 2026, featured approximately 142 selected wellness and beauty brands from both domestic and international origins.
Hery Gunardi stated that the wellness and beauty sector holds promising growth opportunities due to increasing global awareness regarding health, fitness, and quality of life. “BRI views the wellness and beauty industry as a sector with immense potential for continuous development. The BWB Expo is more than just an exhibition; it is a declaration that Indonesia, and Bali in particular, is ready to become a global wellness centre. Not just as a destination, but as a birthplace for brands, innovation, and wellness standards that inspire the world. BRI is prepared to walk alongside all business players to realise this vision, ensuring more Indonesian wellness champions can compete on the global stage,” said Hery.
The wellness and beauty sector is currently one of the industries with the most promising growth prospects. In 2024, the global wellness economic value was recorded at USD 6.8 trillion. Meanwhile, Indonesia ranks among the top 25 largest wellness markets in the world, with over 90% of cosmetic industry players in Indonesia being MSMEs. This makes the strengthening of the wellness and beauty ecosystem a significant opportunity to elevate MSMEs and reach global markets. Furthermore, the Deputy Minister of MSMEs, Helvi Moraza, emphasised that the wellness industry holds great potential as a new source of economic growth and a means to increase the competitiveness of Indonesian MSMEs in the global market.
