PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero), through its Denpasar Regional Office, has recorded the distribution of People’s Business Credit (KUR) amounting to Rp4.272 trillion across Bali, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) from January to April 2026.

“In 2026, up to April, we have distributed Rp4.2 trillion, with the highest portion being micro-KUR at Rp4.013 trillion,” stated Anto Ariyanto, Regional Micro Banking Head for BRI Denpasar Region.

Speaking in Denpasar on Tuesday, Anto noted that the KUR distribution aims to encourage MSMEs in the Bali-Nusra region to become more productive and grow. The sectors most actively participating in the programme are wholesale and retail trade, as well as agriculture, hunting, and forestry.

“In 2026, the two largest sectors are wholesale and retail trade with a ceiling of Rp1.488 trillion involving 26,175 debtors, and the agricultural sector with a ceiling of Rp1.054 trillion involving 20,972 debtors,” he said.

Furthermore, the state-owned bank reported that during the first four months of KUR distribution in Bali-Nusra, the highest volume of applications came from Bali Province at Rp2.516 trillion (58.90 per cent), followed by NTB at Rp969.19 billion (22.69 per cent), and NTT at Rp786.58 billion (18.41 per cent) of the total distribution.

With this significant capital injection, BRI aims for credit recipients to utilise the funds optimally through guidance and coaching, enabling MSMEs to increase business capacity, create jobs, and strengthen regional economic competitiveness.

“The credit is not merely for capital; it is for business development. We implement initiatives such as the ‘Brilliant Village’ programme, where we provide coaching for MSMEs, agent clusters, and villages act as partners for business development in various sectors like agriculture,” Anto explained.

For this year, the Region 17 team aims to enter 86 villages, with 18 ‘Brilliant Villages’ already curated to date. Additionally, coaching is conducted through business clustering, which Anto noted is essential as grouping similar business types facilitates easier access to resources and allows KUR recipients to expand.

“This is part of BRI’s role in strengthening the MSME-based economy in the region. Beyond expanding access to financing, we are also encouraging MSME capacity building through various empowerment programmes,” he added.

Anto expressed a commitment to continue assisting and supporting regional MSME players, as well as educating entrepreneurs on digital literacy by utilising electronic sales platforms to boost business capacity.

He also reminded that the bank remains open to MSMEs wishing to apply for KUR, as the target for 2026 is to distribute Rp10 trillion, with no restriction if the target is exceeded. This follows 2025, when BRI’s Denpasar Regional Office achieved a distribution of Rp12.151 trillion to 238,761 debtors against a similar target.
