Jakarta - BRI Peduli has provided appreciation in the form of education funds to 76 members of the National-Level Paskibraka (Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Pusaka) flag-hoisting squad from 38 provinces across Indonesia, as well as Paskibraka support staff who completed their duties at the Proclamation Seconds Ceremony for the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence at the Merdeka Palace courtyard in Jakarta on Monday (17/08/2026).

The appreciation was delivered on Thursday (20/08/2026) at BRI’s head office in Jakarta under the theme ‘The Nation’s Spirit from Paskibraka’.

Through BRI Peduli, the umbrella for its corporate social responsibility programme, BRI has consistently distributed appreciation funds to national-level Paskibraka members and support staff for 17 consecutive years.

This appreciation programme represents BRI’s commitment to honouring the dedication of young people in carrying out state duties while supporting the continuity of their education. BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny said that BRI always provides significant support towards achieving sustainable development goals, particularly in improving the welfare of the Indonesian people.

‘This appreciation is tangible support for the dedication, discipline and fighting spirit of Paskibraka members and support staff in carrying out their noble duty as a symbol of Indonesian unity. We hope this appreciation can provide motivation in the future, because we know that after this assignment, Paskibraka members must return to their main duty, which is to study well,’ Dhanny said in an official statement on Wednesday (26/8/2025).

In addition to Paskibraka members, BRI also provided appreciation to 72 Paskibraka support staff who accompanied the members during their duties. The support staff contributed through mentoring and support so that the Paskibraka members could complete their duties well.

The struggle of carrying out duties as a Paskibraka member was experienced first-hand by one of the 2026 National-Level Paskibraka members who received education funds from BRI, Celine Olivia Apriani Theo. The Paskibraka member from Pontianak, West Kalimantan, was entrusted with carrying the tray bearing the Red and White Heritage Flag during the Proclamation Seconds Ceremony for the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence at the Merdeka Palace courtyard.

As the bearer of the Heritage Flag tray, Celine played an important role in the state ceremony. The task became both an experience and a source of pride for Celine, as she was able to represent her region and carry out the mandate as a National-Level Paskibraka member.

‘The appreciation from BRI is also very meaningful for us. This assistance helps us better meet our educational needs and makes us even more enthusiastic about continuing to learn and pursue our dreams,’ Celine said.

Permonojati Yudo Prawiro, a representative from the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), expressed appreciation for BRI’s consistency in giving attention to Paskibraka over the years. According to him, the support is meaningful not only for the Paskibraka members but also for those who accompanied them during the training and preparation process.

‘For 17 years, appreciation like this has been a consistent form of attention from BRI to Paskibraka. This support is certainly very meaningful, not only for the Paskibraka members but also for us who accompanied them during the training and preparation process,’ Yudo said.
