PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk has allocated Rp25 trillion in cash to meet public transaction needs during the 2026 Eid holiday period. BRI’s Director of Operations, Hakim Putratama, stated that the funds derive from BRI’s average cash balance of Rp19.7 trillion and an additional cash requirement for seven working days valued at Rp5.3 trillion.

“The cash provision we have prepared this year is Rp25 trillion. The source is from BRI’s cash balance of approximately Rp19.7 trillion, plus the cash requirement for seven working days of approximately Rp5.3 trillion,” Hakim said at a joint breaking-of-fast event in Jakarta on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

According to Hakim, the amount of cash provision for this year’s Eid is actually lower compared to the previous year, influenced by increased uptake of digital transaction services among the public.

He assessed that digital payment usage, such as QRIS and the BRImo application, continues to rise, thereby gradually reducing cash requirements. “The current trend is an increase in QRIS adoption and BRImo usage. That is having a considerable impact on the reduction in cash requirements,” he said.

Nonetheless, BRI remains committed to ensuring banking services are available to the public throughout the Eid holiday period. A number of branch offices and cash offices will continue operating on 18, 20, 23, and 24 March 2026 from 08:00 to 15:00 Western Indonesian Time to serve cash deposits and withdrawals.

Additionally, transaction needs are supported by BRI’s extensive service network. The company has prepared 9,657 ATM units and cash deposit-withdrawal machines (CRM), more than 280,000 electronic cash register terminals, approximately 1.2 million BRILink agents, and more than 4.6 million QRIS payment points.

Hakim assured that the entire network will be maintained to operate optimally during the Eid holiday period. “We are committed to maintaining all service networks, whether ATMs or point-of-sale terminals, so that their availability rate remains above 99 per cent,” he said.

Customers experiencing transaction difficulties may also contact BRI’s contact centre on 1500017 or through Sabrina’s WhatsApp service at 0812-1214-0017, available 24 hours a day.
