PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) has prepared cash totalling Rp25 trillion to meet public demand during the 2026 Ramadan holiday period, particularly around Eid al-Fitr. The funds are being readied to ensure smooth customer transactions, especially during the Eid al-Fitr public holiday.

BRI Operations Director Hakim Putratama stated that the amount of cash prepared this year has been calculated optimally based on demand patterns from previous years. In 2024, BRI prepared Rp29 trillion for a 10-day period, whilst in 2025 it prepared Rp27 trillion for 11 days.

“We are now preparing Rp25 trillion,” said Hakim in Jakarta on Tuesday (10 March).

Hakim emphasised that the public need not worry as the amount has been thoroughly analysed and is considered more than sufficient to support cash transaction needs during the holiday period.

Beyond cash availability, BRI is relying on its network of digital and physical services to support customer transactions. These services are supported by 9,657 automated teller machines (ATMs) and cash recycling machines (CRM), as well as more than 280,000 electronic data capture (EDC) machines distributed across various merchant networks such as restaurants and shopping centres.

“Additionally, approximately 1.2 million BRILink agents are spread across Indonesia,” Hakim added.

For currency exchange services, BRI is preparing funds totalling Rp402 billion through cooperation with Bank Indonesia’s Semarak Rupiah Ramadan and Berkah Idul Fitri (Serambi) programme. This programme runs from the fourth week of February to the second week of March 2026, with services available at 264 BRI branch offices.

To support service needs during the Eid holiday period, BRI will also open limited operational services on 18, 20, 23, and 24 March 2026. These services will operate from 08.00 to 15.00 local time at approximately 186 branch offices, sub-branch offices (KCP), and cash offices.

However, BRI will not open its BRI Unit Work Units during this period. Nevertheless, the available services will still include important transactions for customers, including cash deposit services.
