PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) has prepared cash reserves of Rp 25 trillion to meet public transaction needs during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 period. The allocation has been adjusted based on projected public demand and increased digital transaction growth.

BRI Operations Director Hakim Putratama explained that the Rp 25 trillion cash provision is projected to anticipate public transaction requirements during the seven-day holiday period from 18–24 March 2026. BRI is also ensuring optimal cash distribution by considering the needs of work units and regions experiencing increased economic activity during the extended holiday.

He stated that cash requirements this year can be calculated more efficiently given the growing preference among the public for digital transactions. For reference, during the realisation of Eid al-Fitr 2025, BRI’s cash requirement was recorded at Rp 26.5 trillion.

“BRI is projecting cash requirements for the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 period at Rp 25 trillion, adjusting to the growing digital transaction trend preferred by the public. This figure is lower compared to the previous year’s realisation during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2025 of Rp 26.5 trillion, in line with a 3% year-on-year decline in cash withdrawal transactions,” Hakim stated.

Nevertheless, Hakim stated that BRI remains committed to ensuring adequate cash availability to meet public transaction needs during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026.

A series of measures have been implemented as part of BRI’s preparedness in anticipating increased public demand for cash during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr occasion. Liquidity provision is also part of the company’s strategy to ensure smooth economic activity and maintain optimal banking service quality during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period.

The reliability of service systems remains a priority for the company to enable customers to transact comfortably and securely. All of BRI’s banking service networks, including the BRImo Super Apps offering over 100 features, are ensured to be ready to support customer transaction needs conveniently whenever required.

Additionally, BRI is optimising its e-channel network as part of strengthening electronic transaction services, which includes 19,657 ATMs and CRMs, 284,670 merchant EDCs, and 276,717 BRILink EDCs. Meanwhile, BRI is also optimising its network of 1.2 million BRILink agents distributed throughout Indonesia, ensuring the public can transact safely and conveniently.

To further enhance convenience, customers can also utilise BRI’s Virtual Assistant “Sabrina” via WhatsApp at 0812 1214 017. Sabrina provides 24-hour service for product information, promotions, and information regarding branch office locations, ATMs, BRILink agents, as well as recommendations for the nearest merchants. BRI also provides communication channels through Contact BRI, available 24 hours at 1500017 or via toll-free service in the BRImo Help Centre.

“BRI is committed to continuing to provide reliable and easily accessible banking services to the public, ensuring that financial transaction needs during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr can be fulfilled safely and conveniently,” he concluded.
